Driving is more than getting from A to B — it is independence, confidence, and connection. At MPS Driver Education, we offer senior driving lessons designed to help experienced drivers stay safe, sharp, and in control on today’s roads.
Whether you are looking to refresh your skills, prepare for your licence renewal, or simply feel more confident in specific driving situations, our instructors bring patience, expertise, and a no-pressure approach to every lesson.
Ontario Senior Licence Renewal — What You Need to Know
In Ontario, drivers aged 80 and over are required to renew their licence every two years. The renewal process includes:
- A vision test
- A review of your driving record
- A 45-minute group education session
- Two short cognitive screening exercises
Depending on your results, a road test may also be required. The goal of this process is not to take drivers off the road — it is to ensure that experienced drivers can continue driving safely and confidently for as long as possible.
As of 2025, renewal appointments are available at ServiceOntario centres across Ontario. You will receive a renewal notice by mail approximately 90 days before your licence expires.
